Mack Magagane is a young South African photographer emerging from the Market Photo Workshop.
Mack who has been photographing Johannesburg explains how he first braved the night, shooting with a tripod from city rooftops. And then got down on the ground, hurrying along (for safety reasons) almost snatching precious and elusive moments.
This video is one in a series of interviews with South African photographers about photography and democracy here – then and now.
